Shaheen Afridi acknowledges Pakistan needs improvement in few areas

Pakistan's next series before the T20 World Cup 2024 is against England, where they are scheduled to play a four-match T20I series starting from 22nd May

Pakistan's pace sensation, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has highlighted the significance of the recently-concluded Ireland T20I as crucial preparation for the impending T20 World Cup set to be co-hosted by the USA and West Indies next month. 

During the post-match conference, Afridi underscored the value of these matches in fine-tuning Pakistan's game plan before the prestigious tournament.

"For us, before the World Cup, it's important to have these games to ready ourselves and there are a few areas to improve," Afridi said.

The left-arm pacer also praised the national team batters, specifically noting the outstanding performance of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, emphasizing their crucial roles in creating a match-winning partnership of 139 runs.

"They're both world-class players; they know how to play their role and they have done really well on this pitch," he said.

It is worth noting that the Men in Green secured a 2-1 victory in the three-match T20I series against Ireland. This victory is significant as it marks Pakistan's first bilateral T20I series win since December 2021, when they defeated West Indies. 

Their next series before the World Cup 2024 is against England, where they are scheduled to play a four-match T20I series starting from 22nd May.
